First Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them trailer apparates from the MTV movie awards

It wasn’t just that rap from The Rock and Kevin Hart about Leonardo Dicaprio and the bear that made it out of the MTV Movie Awards on Saturday night. got a brand new trailer and it’s time to ramp up your Potter-phile knowledge with some new info. The trailer comes with a few more facts about Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander. Scamander, remember, is the author of the titular spellbook that will sit on Harry Potter’s desk 90 years later but he hasn’t got around to writing that yet. Instead he’s brought a suitcase of magical creatures to 1920s New York.

Interestingly, that voice over from Auror Percival Graves, played by Colin Farrell, reveals that Scamander was “kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life” and that his only supporter is a certain Albus Dumbledore. If this suggests that we’re actually going to see Dumbledore in the 1920s, I might actually not be able to cope until November.

Other highlights include seeing more of the Magical Congress of the United States of America inside the Woolworth Building in New York, an ultra cute niffler holding a purse, and proof that American customs has always been a nightmare to get through but magic makes it just a little easier. Enjoy.

Directed by David Yates and starring Redmayne, Waterston, Farrell, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Gemma Chan, Ron Perlman and Ezra Miller, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled to arrive in UK and US cinemas on November 18, 2016.
