Minecraft sells 3 million on Xbox Live Arcade

Despite being out for (technically) more than three years, the phenomenon that is Minecraft continues its relentless rampage across every platform imaginable. Today news came out that the game has sold a mammoth three million copies on Xbox Live Arcade, the latest platform it release on.

“I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!” tweeted Markus “Notch” Persson today, confirming the news. When will this reign of terror end? We’re honestly not sure. This is at least the fourth time they’ve gone platinum on a new platform, and it’s not over yet.

Seek shelter if this game ever comes out on Facebook. At this point we’re wondering if Minecraft will ever go away, or if it’s truly the LEGO of the new generation.
