Bruce Willis heads up the brand new issue of Total Film magazine , exploding onto the cover with A Good Day To Die Hard .
Inside the issue, we chat to everyone involved with the latest installment in the action franchise, to find out why audiences – and Willis – are drawn back to John McClane’s muddy vest, again and again.
You can read the full feature inside the issue (available for just £1.99 on your iPad) (opens in new tab) , but here’s a snippet of what Bruce Willis had to say about the franchise…
When we asked about the action set-pieces – as Die Hard 5 contains a mammoth car chase that took 78 days to shoot – Willis refused to take responsibility, and admitted that the original DH is still the standard to aspire to.
“Everybody has their own version of what would be a great, big action sequence in the next Die Hard film,” Willis told us. “Sometimes it goes outside the box; sometimes it seems organic to the story. It’s just something you shoot – something you do.
“I’m really pleased to continue to be asked back to do other versions and other incarnations of Die Hard . The first one really is… that’s all there is. Everything else is just trying to be as good as that film.”
A Good Day To Die Hard opens in the UK on 14 February 2013.
