Xfire adds new YouTube feature

If you use Xfire, you are one of 19 million gamers who now have a new way to post game video clips to YouTube. With the new YouTube feature announced today, players can now post gameplay videos directly to their personal YouTube channel. This means more clips, walkthroughs, rants, and raves will be joining YouTube’s growing pool of game videos for you to like, share, or hate as you please.

In 2010 alone, Xfire users captured 20 million screenshots and 2 million game videos with the service, and we expect to see that number grow with the new ability to share videos on one of the world’s most popular video site. According to Xfire President Mark Donovan, the new YouTube feature is a good fit for Xfire users and was a highly requested addition to the service. “Over 90% of our players have YouTube accounts and half of those users visit YouTube more than once a day,” said Donovan, continuing, “our user base has spoken and they want to be able to share their videos to more sites – We’ve listened and we’re going to keep on adding more sharing tools over the coming months.”

In addition to capturing screenshots and video, Xfire is also used for in-game instant messaging, voice chatting, tracking friends across various games and platforms, and also offers a service for managing your guilds and clans.

It can also be interesting for following trends in the games industry. Earlier this year, an Xfire reportfound that free-to-play MOBA League of Legends dethroned World of Warcraft as the most played title by users.
