Frozenbyte has posted a new “Vibes” trailer for Trine 2 showcasing the sequel’s lush environments and trippy Zen-like atmosphere. Granted, it’s exceptionally light on gameplay, plot and character details, but it’s the best 2:05 minutes of stress therapy you’ll receive all day.
Trine 2 is a follow-up to the 2009 original, and continues the side-scrolling action puzzle experience with new locations, abilities and expanded multiplayer co-op features.
“There is still a lot of work to do – our programmers are working hard to ensure that the game ships bug-free and that all of the gameplay features match the quality level we want,” said studio CEO Lauri Hyvärinen in a press release. “The game will be released once we have completed our work and the game has passed all the console-related quality assurance processes, so we are still a few months away. Ultimately we decided that we don’t want to rush things – our goal is to make Trine 2 one of the best if not the best downloadable game of 2011 and we’ll stick to that.”
Last week, Frozenbyte’s Mikael Haveri announced a content lock for Trine 2, indicating the team had finished creating elements for the sequel and was now readying the game for market, adding, “ ‘It is released when it is done’ still remains, but at least a huge part of it is now officially done.”
Trine 2 is expected to arrive later this year for download on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. For more, read our hands-on impression from E3 2011.
