Margot Robbie has been discussing her involvement in upcoming comic-book actioner Suicide Squad, hinting to the Arizona Republic (opens in new tab) that she is tied down to a multi-picture deal.
Robbie will star as the Joker’s paramour Harley Quinn in the new film, and admits that signing on to such a potentially massive franchise was something of a leap of faith…
“[It’s] daunting,” she says. “You don’t need to have commitment issues to be frightened by the fact that you might have just signed 10 years of your life away.”
“But with [Harley], it’s a character I don’t think would ever get boring. Ever. So if they did Suicide Squad One, Two, Three… I would be over the moon about it.”
Should the first film prove successful, we’d imagine that’s pretty much a guarantee. Directed by David Ayer and co-starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on 5 August 2016.
