Universal has debuted a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Fast & Furious 7, offering an in-depth look at the explosive plane sequence in which the gang drive a squad of souped-up cars out of a plane.
The plane drop took centre stage in a previously-released clip from the movie. That brief teaser served as a tasty appetiser for the action-packed hijinks we can expect from Dom’s crew in this latest instalment.
Take a peek behind the curtain to see how that incredible feat was achieved:
Shining a spotlight on the production aspect of the scene, it’s amazing to witness actual stunt workers commandeering the vehicles during their high-altitude descent. It’s hard to believe the sequence wasn’t cooked up using CGI.
With jaw-dropping set pieces such as this, it’s no wonder the octane-fuelled sequel looks poised to be the year’s best blockbuster.
Directed by James Wan and starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, Fast & Furious 7 will race into cinemas on April 3, 2015.
