Favreau, Kripke And JJ Abrams Team-Up For TV Pilot

Revolution is a “high-octane action drama” in world without energy. What, any energy?

Three premiere league sci-fi creators are combining to create a new TV drama pilot for NBC, Revolution .

According to Deadline , Iron Man and Iron Man 2 helmer Jon Favreau has just signed up to direct the pilot, which has been written by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, and will be executive produced by JJ Abrams. Blimey.

Revolution is being described as, “as a high-octane action drama following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.” What, all forms? Like kinetic energy? Potential energy? Heat? That’d be a world where nothing happens. This could be a very dull show… Either that, or, more likely, the PR guys working on the press release never passed their physics exams.

On the other hand, the listless Kingdom Hospital survived 13 episodes without displaying any sign of energy at all.

This will be the first drama pilot Favreau has directed, though he has called the shots on a few comedy pilots before.
