In anticipation of the upcoming Gods and Kings expansion pack, 2K Games has announced that they’ll be holding a Civilization V sale on Steam, along with a promotion that will make Civ V completely free for just this weekend.

Until the end of the weekend, Civilization V is 75% off on Steam (opens in new tab), including all DLC, bringing the cost down to just $7.49 and some DLC as low as $0.75.

The Gods and Kings expansion is due to arrive on June 19, and will usher in a host of new content to Civ V including 27 new units, 13 new buildings, 9 new wonders, and 9 new playable civilizations as well as a new religion system that allows you to create your own customizable religion. But we’re most excited about the new Steampunk Mode (opens in new tab) that we previewed earlier this month.
