If you told me that an orchestra was going to perform Zelda music on The Late Show back when I was first playing A Link to the Past, I probably would have asked “What’s The Late Show?” Because I was five. But after you’d explained to me that The Late Show is (or will be) a massively popular talk show hosted by the beloved Stephen Colbert, I would have been amazed.
This is for you, five-year-old me:
The performance was held in honor of The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes (opens in new tab), which Nintendo plans to release on October 22, though it included music from all across the series. The conductor even had an actual Wind Waker baton. Though, somewhat disappointingly, she didn’t use it in the performance (I guess the extra bulk of those little windy things might throw her off). Check out the The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses website (opens in new tab) for tour dates if you want to see the show live.
