Oz: The Great And Powerful has released a full-length trailer, and you can see it right here.
Where the teaser trailer opened on a black-and-white Kansas before barrelling into a an explosion of imagery (some familiar to Wizard Of Oz fans, some not so familiar), the full-length promo gives a much rounder sense of the plot.
Which is? Well, in director Sam Raimi’s WOZ prequel, James Franco’s Oscar Diggs is a small-time magician who seizes his chance to make it big after he balloons into the Land of Oz (via a tornado).
There, the charlatan takes advantage of his newcomer status to score fame and fortune, but three witches – Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) – could prove his undoing.

All three witches get enough screentime to give a flavour of their performances, and the final action montage reveals snatches of a magical showdown. Zach Braff’s flying monkey sidekick Finley gets to speak up, and we also get our first look at the new Munchkins, whose reveal is one of the trailer highlights.
The Wicked Witch of the West is still being kept under wraps though.
Alice In Wonderland comparisons are inevitable, and Raimi has a lot to live up to, but judging by the gleaming hue of Emerald City, this could be a pleasant nostalgia-fest for Wizard Of Oz fans.
Oz: The Great And Powerful opens in the UK on 8 March 2013.
