Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition release date and price revealed

Horizon Zero Dawn (opens in new tab) is coming back with a nice bundle for holiday shoppers this year. Sony announced today that Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition will hit stores on Decima-eber 5 in the US, with a sticker price of $49.99 for both the base game and the Frozen Wilds DLC expansion (opens in new tab). Get it, because the game engine’s called Decima?

Frozen Wilds will arrive about a month earlier on November 7 and cost $19.99 (or $14.99 for PS Plus members). Horizon: Zero Dawn’s current base price is $49.99, so the paid DLC is a nice bonus for folks who opt for the complete edition. It also includes the contents from the Digital Deluxe Edition, which formerly sold for an extra $10: the Carja Trader Pack and Nora Machine Trapper Pack, the Carja Storm Ranger Outfit and Banuk Trailblazer Outfit, and the Carja Mighty Bow and the Banuk Culling Bow.

Bonus paid goodies aside, Horizon: Zero Dawn has also grown quite a bit by way of free updates since it came out in February. Extra difficulty settings let you square off against crushing combat encounters or take it easy with an ultra-powerful Aloy and weakened foes. And don’t miss out on that excellent photo mode either, featuring some excellent camera settings and a bunch of fun new poses.

Back to the topic of Decima, I just had a vision of a parallel universe where every copy of Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition would come with a Death Stranding demo disc; like the old days of PS2 cross-promotion, when everybody bought a copy of Zone of the Enders to get Metal Gear Solid 2 Trial Edition. Ahh, to live in that wonderful world…
