A new season of HBO’s Game of Thrones isn’t scheduled to air until 2012. That leaves anxious fans with two options: read the A Song of Ice and Fire book series upon which theTV seriesis based, or stare longingly at these new screenshots from the upcoming PC video game adaption.
In development by Cyanide (Blood Bowl), Game of Thrones: Genesis will take potential kingslayers through 1,000 years of Westeros’ history, recounting the origin of the ‘Others’, historic wars and the backstory behind some of the series’ most prominent families. The adaptation will include a single player campaign developed in consultation with the books’ author George R.R. Martin, as well as a multiplayer campaign that will allow up to 8 players to wield both weapons and cunning backstabbery in their bid to take over the Iron Throne.
