Kick-Ass 2 is finally up and running, and in order to reassure fans that that’s the case, a new poster has been released for the film, promising its arrival in 2013.
The poster is pretty much as simple as it gets, with the original Kick-Ass title logo now joined by a suitably bloody “2”. Add in the 2013 release date, and that’s your lot: an exercise in minimalism. That said, it’s still got us hugely excited!
In other Kick-Ass news, Deadline is reporting that Scrubs star Donald Faison is in discussions to play Dr. Gravity, a physics professor moonlighting as a superhero, whose weapon of choice is the baseball bat-esque “gravity pole”. Yes, you read that correctly.
Should Faison sign on officially, he’ll join Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Nicholas Mintz-Plasse, all of whom will be reprising their roles from the first film. Nic Cage is also thought to be filming a cameo, while John Leguizamo has been added to the cast as one of Mintz-Plasse’s bodyguards.
Directed by Jeff Wadlow with original helmer Matthew Vaughn returning as producer, Kick-Ass 2 will arrive in 2013, with a specific release date to be confirmed.
